The Lion Tamer A little story I picked up Dr David Watt’s lectures at Newcastle uni!The lion performs tricks in the circus for the lion tamer. The audience gasps because they know that the lion can kill the lion tamer. The lion tamer sweats because they know that the lion can kill the lion tamer. The only one that does not realise that the lion can kill the lion tamer - is the lion. Who is the lion? We are! Don’t be fooled by the ‘lion tamers’. The Child and the Starfish Author Di Morrissey tells a story about a child gently picking up beached starfish and putting them back one by one into the sea. A man walked by and said – that won’t make an iota of difference and the child replied - to this starfish it will! The Power of One You make an impact in the world every time you buy something. Individuals really can make a difference. You can change what multinational companies do to the environment, stop the torture of millions of dogs and cats in the pet fur trade and put a halt to the insane and inhumane cruelty of animal testing on the same products year after year for something as inane as cosmetics. Choose what you buy. If we all bought free range and/or organic labelled meats and eggs only, then intensive farming would stop overnight.
